Real-time AI Analysis of Social Media Posts for Natural Disaster Assessment and Recovery
Social media and other photo-sharing platforms are an extremely valuable tool for assessment of situations before, during, and after natural disasters. Because users consistently post on Twitter, Instagram, etc. during these dangerous and life-threatening events to raise awareness and contact friends and family, image datasets sourced in real time from social media are some of the most accurate and efficient datasets to analyse using machine learning, aiding in the allocation of resources and personnel during and after these tragedies.
